Regions from -0.96 and -0.90 kb (CIF3) and from -1.63 and -1.49 kb (CIF1) are bound by Ci-fkh and are necessary for self-activation. (Di Gregorio 2001)

The two Ci-Sna sites are bound by Ci-Sna and necessary for repression of expression in the lateral ependymal cells. (Di Gregorio 2001)

The T-box inside the Sna sites is necessary for the activation of expression in endoderm (maybe by Ci-VegTR). (Di Gregorio 2001)
